Cattinair: leadership in wood-dust solutions

Cattinair stands out in particular for placing great emphasis on understanding the customer’s specific needs so that, drawing on its many years of professional experience, it can offer the best possible customized solution for the task at hand.

This approach is fully in line with IMEX’s values, which is why we are confident that Cattinair’s international experience, combined with IMEX’s local presence, technical expertise, and personalized support, will ensure that our domestic customers receive the best possible solution for every project. As is customary at IMEX Filtertechnika, our work does not end with the survey, sizing, project design, installation, and commissioning; our service staff is also available to perform regular inspections and maintenance of the equipment.  Furthermore, this equipment can be integrated into IMEX Filtertechnik’s FMS remote monitoring system, thereby helping to ensure the long-term, proper operation of the equipment.

Cyclofiltre: Cattinair’s flagship product

The Cyclofiltre which combines all the advantages of the pre-separation cyclone - mso commonly used in the wood industry - with those of a modern dust collector featuring a large filter surface area and automatic filter cleaning.
The Cyclofiltre system was specifically developed for the extraction, efficient separation, and filtration of fine dust and wood chips generated during continuous industrial production processes.

The tangential air inlet creates a cyclonic effect, ensuring that up to 95% of the coarser particles and chips are separated from the fine dust even before the actual filtration process begins.

The air swirling due to the cyclonic effect flows downward and reaches a perforated protective plate, which shields the filter bags from direct impact. The turbulence created at the perforations separates and deflects the larger particles, so that only the very finest dust actually reaches the filter bags.

At the bottom of the perforated shroud, the airflow velocity decreases significantly, allowing the separated contaminants to settle undisturbed while keeping the load on and wear of the filter bags to a minimum.

The separated dust and chips are discharged through a cellular feeder that ensures an airtight seal, e.g., into a collection container or a big bag; continuous further transport via pneumatic conveying (e.g., to a silo) is also possible.

The finest dust particles eventually come into contact with the filter media. Air flows from the outside in through the filter bags, while the particles accumulate on the surface of the filter fabric, forming a layer of dust.
At regular intervals, a counter-current pulse of compressed air dislodges the accumulated dust layer from the filter surface, ensuring the filter’s consistently high efficiency and a steady airflow.
